A senior English Premier League (EPL) striker has come forward to harshly criticize Manchester United’s “ace” Marcus Rashford.
Darren Bent is a former Tottenham, Sunderland, and Aston Villa striker who has also been capped by the England national team. He has a sobering assessment of Rashford. While many have touted Rashford as the future of the Red Devils, Bent rejects that assessment. 온라인카지노
The Red Devils have had a terrible start to the season. They’re just 2-3 on the season and have slipped to 13th in the league. They suffered a shock 1-3 defeat at home to Brighton & Hove Albion in the fifth round. Any hopes of a real resurgence this season have been dashed. The gap between them and local rivals Manchester City is widening as time goes on.
Ace Rashford is also struggling. He’s scored just one goal in five games this season. There’s a lot of blame to go around for United’s struggles. Last season, Rashford showed tremendous growth, scoring 17 league goals and 30 overall. This season, however, he hasn’t been able to break through.
“Rashford is not world class,” Bent told TalkSPORT in the UK. He’s overrated,” Bent said on TalkSPORT.
“I’ve seen him disappear from the pitch a lot of times. Every team needs a player who is consistent. It doesn’t make sense that an inconsistent Rashford is world class, not by my personal standards, but by global standards.”
Bent then went on to mention Arsenal’s Bukayo Sakho. Why? To say he’s a better striker than Rashford. Xhaka’s Arsenal have won four, drawn one, and are unbeaten. Xhaka has two goals and two assists in five games and is leading the team’s upward trend.
“When you compare Rashford and Xhaka, Xhaka is closer to world class. Goal numbers don’t tell the whole story. Even if the numbers are low, Xhaka does something on the pitch.”
