Blake Snell (31, San Diego Padres), who threw a seven-inning no-hitter and struck out 10 in his last game, has a better chance of winning the Cy Young Award.
That’s because his main rival, Justin Steele (28, Chicago Cubs), has fallen apart in a big way. Steele was knocked around for six runs in three innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 21.
His season ERA skyrocketed from 2.73 to 3.00. Steele’s collapse left him as the only pitcher in the race for the Cy Young Award with a two-run ERA.메이저사이트
Snell had pitched 174 innings in 31 games this season, including 174 against the Colorado Rockies on April 20, with a 14-9 record and a 2.33 ERA. He has 227 strikeouts.

Steele, on the other hand, has pitched 168 innings in 29 games this season with a 3.00 ERA. He has 170 strikeouts. A significant gap to Snell.
Notably, while Steele was knocked around for six runs in six innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks on April 16, Snell has been brilliant in four games this month, allowing two runs in 25 innings.
Not only has he been on a roll lately, but he’s been able to close the gap on the back of his competition’s struggles, so it’s looking increasingly likely that Snell will win the Cy Young.

If Snell wins the Cy Young Award, it will be his second in 2018. He would also become the first player to win the award in both leagues, something that has only happened six times in the major leagues.
