James Maddison is slowly improving his chemistry with Son Heung-min.
Tottenham Hotspur fan community ‘Spurs Web’ reported on Sunday (July 27) that “Maddison said he is now starting to understand Son Heung-min better on the pitch. Until last season, Son was mainly telepathic with Kane. After Kane’s departure, it seems that he is slowly starting to have a similar understanding with Madison.”스포츠토토
According to the outlet, Madsen added: “In the last few weeks, Heung-min has been playing in the center. People generally want to have a good relationship with their strikers, and Son Heung-min is the type of striker everyone wants.”
“He’s a really nice guy,” said Madsen. He gets along well off the field. That’s a big help during the game. It’s still early, but we already have a good understanding of each other in training. I’m starting to get to know what he likes and how he moves,” he said, adding that they are finding their rhythm.
Maddison joined Spurs this summer. He joined Leicester from Norwich City in 2018. In his debut season, Maddison made an immediate impact, scoring seven goals and providing seven assists in 36 Premier League (PL) appearances. Since then, he has continued to perform well for Leicester.
Last season was no different. He led the team’s offense with 10 goals and 9 assists in 30 league games. However, we won’t see him in a Leicester jersey in the PL anymore. Leicester were relegated to 18th place in the league. Tottenham expressed interest, and the deal was finalized.
Maddison has quickly made an impact. He’s started all six PL games since the start of the season, and he’s energized the team with his creative play. After picking up two assists on the opening day, he scored his debut goal against Bournemouth. He has continued to rack up offensive points and now has two goals and four assists.
He has also been named vice-captain under Enze Postecoglou. Along with fellow vice-captain Cristian Romero, he has already made a huge impact on and off the field. He has a great chemistry with Son Heung-min. He has scored five goals in six games. Notably, both of his goals in the North London derby against Arsenal were assisted by Madsen.
Up until last season, Son was known as the “Son-Ke duo” because of his excellent chemistry with Kane. Son and Kane have made a name for themselves as one of the best combinations in the PL. The duo made history by scoring 47 goals together, but their relationship came to an end after eight years when Kane left for Munich.
